In my defense 'Superfood' is a completely made up marketing term....
When I originally wrote the content for this strip, it took place between two "human" characters - the quotes are there because they'd still be cartoonish, of course. However, this weekend, it dawned on me that it would be perfectly fine to have a robot drinking the superfood smoothies. This isn't real life, it's a comic, who cares if the robot is drinking something that would probably cause his body to rust and corrode. So long as it is in the pursuit of funny, what's the big deal?! =D Oh - and for the record - I'm not arguing against the concept that "superfoods" are good for you - most of them are.  What I'm arguing against is the marketing insanity that has seemingly surrounded these items, promising just about everything short of a cure for cancer ("cut down on belly fat every day with this one weird old tip!" anyone?) for a very high price - with almost zero documentation to back up any of these claims.
